Select game board width and height…

Size
  • Board sized 1 tile is trivial since it's already solved by setting the tile on the board! Nothing to do actually.
  • Solving in size of 2 tiles is obviously impossible.
  • Board size 6 tiles is impossible to solve, too. But can you explain why?
Ok

Rules

Objective is to place bi-colored tiles onto given board positions to match certain requirements as listed below. The size of the squared board is measured by its width in tiles. The size can be changed in the options menu. So if it is eight tiles wide and high the squared board has 64 positions in total. The amount of available different colors matches the size of the board. Each rectangular tile has a unique combination of a frame color and an inner color.

Besides using the board positions for the tiles these can temporarily be placed onto the spare area below the board. To solve the puzzle all tiles have to be positioned on board so that…

  • each frame color must occur exactly once per row and column and
  • each inner color must occur exactly once per row and column.
